“LUCY 9TH FLOOR”VARGEN AND KARL OLANDERSSON MEET IN CINEMATIC JAZZ BLUES

Swedish singer-songwriter Vargen (Reine Johansson) drops "Lucy 9th Floor”  – a song where jazz, blues, and Nordic melancholy intertwine in a cinematic soundscape. Guest trumpeter Karl Olandersson adds a soft, dreamlike elegance that evokes classic noir soundtracks and smoky late-night clubs.

The track originates from a Recordia Live session, which was refined in the studio by producer Fredrik Larnemo

- Fredrik suggested we'd ask Karl Olandersson to add some extra spice to the track, says Vargen. Karl delivered four fantastic takes, each one with a slightly different approach. It was sheer joy, but very difficult -  it felt almost criminal killing off so many darlings - to pick out the gems you now hear on ‘Lucy’.

The song is part of Vargen’s ongoing audiovisual album project, where each track has its own distinct character and visual world. The accompanying music video was filmed in Kockenburg and Hermans Kupol – two atmospheric locations around Varberg that mirror the song’s dreamlike tone.

Produced, mixed and mastered by Fredrik Larnemo, Recordia, Varberg.

Musicians: Reine Johansson- vocal; Karl Olandersson – trumpet; Dag Hallberg – keys; Andreas Alm – acoustic guitar; Per Bengtsson – electric guitar; Christian Kullberg – bass; Klas Assarsson – drums.
